Massive Access Performance Analysis for Electric Dedicated Cellular Networks

  • LTE-based random access process becomes the bottleneck for tremendous increase of distribution/metering terminals in smart grid, since the access delay and block probability may degrade the real-time effective data collections. This paper introduces the main process of random access in LTE, then the limitation in smart grid is analyzed. The simulation platform for random access is established to evaluate the performance with the key indicators, such as block probability, access delay, the average number of preamble retransmissions. Finally, the principle for parameter configuration is proposed.
