Discussion on High Efficiency of Magnesium Hydroxide Desulfurization Technology in a 60 MW Thermal Power Plant in Vietnam

  • This paper is to describe the high efficiency of magnesium hydroxide desulfurization technology in 60 MW thermal power plant in Rietnam. By spraying magnesium hydroxide Mg (OH)2 slurry, the principle of wet desulfurization (WFGD) is that the boiler flue gas will react with the slurry for the harmless MgSO4 solvent, to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions. Innovative methods applied by Formosa heavy industries (Ningbo) Limited company is to modify the WFGD process to achieve strict emissions requirements. There is a flexible elasticity for boiler load and sulfur dioxide content changes.
