Seismic Effect Study of RC Wall-Steel Hybrid Structure Valve Hall By Time-history Analysis

  •     Introduction   In order to study the seismic effect of RC wall-steel hybrid structure valve hall and provide basis for engineering design, a time-history analysis is carried out.
        Method   Two natural seismic waves and an artificial seismic waves based on response spectrum were adopted. The calculation was done via Midas/gen program.
        Result   Comparison between time-history analysis and response spectrum method indicates that response spectrum method may underestimate the seismic effect of such irregular hybrid structure.
        Conclusion   So for structures in high intensity earthquake area, time-history analysis is necessary in addition to response spectrum method.
